KB3LIX I heard ur QSO @ 0845!  Nice job!

TU for the confirmation !!!
I was not sure he answered me, all I heard was LIX
and I took a chance.
Now to see if it hits their log, but if you (K0RS) heard it too,
I should be OK.

I still have the horrible noise, but it diminished enough
for me to starting hearing them around 0830z.

Yinz watch (yinz...Pittsburgheese for y'all)
tomorrow they will be gangbusters on all the high bands
and sound like locals.
That is the way it is with me,
when I finally work the new or gud DX, later that day
or the next day they seem to POUND in when I was
sweating bullets trying to hear them
the previous day/days.

Good luck to everyone still waiting in line to snag them.

This one was a hard fought battle, but worth the wait.

Congratulations! Have an Arn or a pop to celebrate. (I'm from Greensburg.)

By any chance is an "Arn" an Iron City Beer? I graduated from Lock Haven State College in 1981. But I drank the "good stuff" - Genessee Cream Ale! (Jenny Screamers . . . . ).

Oh - how about Straub - they came in a plastic bag with a draw string!

I only ride Cannondale bikes - used to be made near Pittsburgh . . .

Rich,
When do they QRT? Is it 1900z on Dec-8th?
I see posts in the cluster that they QRT in 4 hours, which would be about
 0400z on Dec-8th.

The implications are that, we may not have another 80m chance for NA
 sunrise.

Well, I'm a happy camper. Got them on several band slots and most importantly ZL9 gives me Honor Roll.  NH8S was #330 and ZL9HR is #331.  I heard that all of the NH8S logs have been uploaded to LOTW, but with the system bogged down, nothing verified yet.   If ZL9HR uploads to LOTW soon, maybe I can get my application into ARRL before the end of the year.   Grin

Man I love DX!

Sleep deprived here for almost 4 nights in a row now. But definitely don't want to miss on fine Dx, if they will stay on the air till 1900z.

The pileups were brutal--never got them on 40 or 30 meters.   But, I sure am pleased to get them on four bands and two modes--it was really great that they could operate at night--when I made three of my five QSOs.  I wish them a safe trip home!

I think they are about done. No spots anywhere so far. The last one was a 6M spot from VK.
Hope they have a safe trip back.  We got more than we had hoped and are happy.

You betcha !

Iron is my favorite beer.

Don't care for the fancy, big advertizing budget brews, gimme
something fairly local.

IC no longer made in Pittsburgh.
I think they moved to the Old Rolling Rock
facility in Latrobe PA.

Still close enough for me.

********

I too wish them a safe trip back to ZL or VK.
Job well done.
I'm happy with my ONE GREENIE !

One IS better than NONE.

Damn straight!

Can't wait for Les, W2LK to show us the pictures at a future club meeting. I'm sure he has some stories to tell.

Good work by all!

I'm following up on an earlier reply of mine...my first contact with them is in confirmed now in the online log but now I have to wait for the next/last update to confirm a couple of others...Friday was my only day I could operate but conditions were good.  I was also surprised when I got to the station early Sat morning to check 40M for DX and found them on CW...didn't expect that.  73...Sam W8VVE

I was up early on Saturday morning as well and heard a royal cacophony on the spotted frequency of 7032. Two zero-beat stations handing out Qs and signing ZL9HR. I did work one but something in my spidey sense said it was too easy (one call), but I logged it anyways. An hour and a half later a station signing ZL9HR was spotted working in the clear on 7025; great fist, fast rate and it took about 5 calls for some 40CW insurance. I'm really not sure who I worked on that first one, but I bet the op's name was Slim.

Is there an OQRS for ZL9HR? I may have missed it but I can't find mention of it.
