Trying to help a distant ham friend with a Yaesu HT battery charger problem.
He's away from any sort of test gear, even a multimeter and like many of us
a little bit funds disadvantaged so "shotgunning" can be dollars-difficult.
The radio is an FT-250. Radio is OK but the CD-47 charging stand seems not
to operate... the charging/charged LED doesn't light. He replaced the PA-43B
wall-wart to no avail. From the Yaesu manual I see that a spare battery can
be charged in the stand so I'm guessing that the charging circuitry is inside
the stand. Further guessing from the replacement price of the stand that there's
not much in it. The operator manual nor the service manual say anything about
the wall-wart or the charging stand. If there isn't anything exotic in the stand and
the components are identifiable I'll have him mail me items and I'll fix it.
Question is: any of you folks know what is inside the stand or maybe even have
a schematic? Is the stand held together with screws so that it can be
non-destructively opened?

Thanks,
Alan

I don't know what's in it, but the bottom is fixed on with 4 small screws, so I presume it comes apart when you take those out.

Not on an FT250. Nowhere to plug in wall-wart.

You might guess that I have one...
