Got an envelope in the mail from the Ukraine yesterday
At first I was a bit worried. It was just in a paper, letter sized, envelope. I was afraid there might be damage coming all the way from the Ukraine in just an envelope... But, inside the board was wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic and was in good shape.
I hope to get time within the next day or two to get it wired in. I dug up a few feet of RG174 from the junk box. I have an HTX10 already modified for low power transmit. I'm planning to mount the transverter board inside the case of the HTX10. Looking inside the case, there should be plenty of room on the bottom side of the radio, just forward of the internal speaker. Any opinions on if the HTX case will be enough heat sink for the power transistor of the transverter? Assuming light duty SSB/CW operations only...
I plan to document the "construction project." If anyone is interested, I will send you a copy when I'm done. Just hit me up at k9zf at yahoo dot com.
With any luck I will be on 222 in time for the ARRL January VHF contest.
(When did it stop being the January VHF Sweepstakes?)
