Good Websites?

I've recently started to listen to the broadcast bands again after many years of virtual inactivity.  I bought a 2012 issue of the WRTH last night at Barnes at Noble, but I'd like a source more up to date.

When I was a young boy I used to receive a monthly newsletter comprised of frequencies and times of stations monitored my club members.  Are there any Websites providing that kind of info?

I saw an advertisement by Klingenfuss the other day. I still have one of his utility guides that must be over 30 years old. Has anybody purchased any of his disks for SW broadcasts?  How did you like it and do they include periodic additions over the internet?

Thanks to all three who answered.  I will check each one out.

 I must say the WRTH is no longer the book it once was.  First of all the day after I bought the 2012 edition I found a 2011 edition I forgot all about.  Seeing as so many very strong stations are not even listed in WRTH I don't think a year old copy would be such a disadvantage.

Barnes and Noble used to have a 30 day return policy and many - myself included - used to read large parts of books or most of the books, return them and start the whole process over. It's a lot harder with their 14 day limit.  I think I'm going to return WRTH for a full credit as I'm not impressed whatsoever.  I have WRTHs from the 1970s and 1980s and they are twice as large as today's books.  Seems like they took a cleaver to the book.

What's amazing to me is WRTH is still in business but Passport to World Band is out of business.  I think the wrong company ceased publishing.

Of the Shortwave websites I've found EiBi (http://www.eibispace.de) and Short-wave.info to be the most useful.  Short-wave.info's grey-line map is also a handy feature.

Hi.  I would recommend the Ontario DX Association's website.  They update their newsletter each month--great columns always, and very informative.  They also have a chart that shows most of the English language broadcasts by time/frequency/country.  That is a tremendous resource--it's like a two page "TV guide" for the English-speaking SWL.  Check it out!  I keep one in my sunroom, by my pristine Drake SW-4A, and one in my "shack" with the other radios. 

Just Google 'em.

I can see why they could not to continue publishing if people are treating Barnes and Noble like a lending library. A 14 day return is even too generous with books, do you expect to find the binding defective and want a return?

I find it ironic that in the same posting we can be bemoaning the loss of publishers of relevant books and magazines yet we do not want those publishers and authors to earn any profit off of what they sell because we will read it and return it for full credit.
