Delayed RFI......

So, I have a Samsung 37" LCD TV mounted on my bedroom wall. If I operate on 15 or 20 meters barefoot at a 100 watts no problem. But...if I fire up the amp and run 300 watts or more the TV will work fine for 20 or more minutes and then all of a sudden it will start scanning through all the channels and becomes unresponsive to any remote command. The only way to stop it is to unplug it from  the wall. Once plugged back in all is fine. Very strange......I'm getting tired of climbing up on a ladder to unplug it everytime.

Well, you already  have the solution...

Try adding RF chokes on the cords, cables of the TV.  Make as make turns as possible.

The standard answers to RFI problems are:

-Lower power
-Change frequency
-Change bands
-Move antenna further away/higher
-Reorient the antenna
-Put a BalUn /Line isolator in the coax feedline  at the feed point

Quick question for you on the TV, does it by chance have a set of touch controls on the set itself? If it does they may be of the "capacitive" type and might be loading up at higher levels of RF field.

I HATE TOUCH ANYTHING CONTROLS! They almost always react badly to Amateur Radio. That includes the touch controls on one of our satellite control boxes; low power plenty of chokes and other suppression it receives right through the case and goes crazy if I am on for long. 50 watts is enough to cause problems, while an older box much closer to may antenna has no problem at 600 watts. The buttons on the older box are switches.

I think diconnecting the touch buttons will solve the problem.
