Recently, I was approached by KD8RTJ off Eham about an item I had for sale.  Stated he wanted it, stated he mailed the payment.  Week plus goes by and I know the USPS isn't that slow.  Sent an email and got back a BS story about the stamp came off the mail and the USPS returned it.  Uh Huh.  Okay.  Stated he mailed it again.  Another week plus goes by, nothing, nada.  I already suspected a scam (i.e. I would send the item ahead of the payment).  Sorry, that isn't going to happen.  Sent another email (keep in mind he isn't contacting me to see if I received his mailing, nothing), and got "I got the item" thanks.  I stated. I never sent it as you never paid for anything.  Then I get "Sorry, I got another from somewhere else".  You figure that out.  All I can say if this character approaches you with a for sale, or a " I will buy it", be very, very careful, and perhaps you may get lucky.  Had I sent the item as I sometimes will, I would out of it and the money as he had no intentions of paying for anything.  Beware is all I can say.  Quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it likely is a duck.

Summary:

BS'd about the first mailing, but if in fact did get returned, stated clearly had remailed it.  Never arrived.  I was already figuring this would be a scam.  When finally contacted, stated bought one somewhere else, which is fine, but why lie about mailing a payment twice.  That is what is confusing.  Likely, thought I might just send it prior to receiving a payment.  Nope.  Won't happen.  So, if you like to play games, or take a risk, perhaps this guy is for you.  On my mist to avoid in the future.  Cheers
