I was just on H40FN's QRZ page and read this message from Sigi:

" Bad News today Wednesday, February 6th, 2013:"

"A terrible earthquake with a magnitude of 8 initiated a tsunami hitting the TEMOTU Province Nendo island, City of LATA, where I'm usually operating my radio H40FN. Several villages were distroyed and according to the news 6 people died. Just last december 2012 I handed over a second donation to the LATA hospital Mr. Augustine Bilve of 700 US $ which now I can see was a good help from many amateurs and the money will be used to support Temotu hospital even now after this tsunami. You see hunting for new DXCC entities also can be combined with help for the local people."

I just gave the required donation and some extra $ for a QSL which I received today. I'm glad it will be used to help the people of Nendo Island. I'm also glad Sigi is home safe and was not there when it happened.
