Greetings all.

I recently have started digging into my amateur radio hobby and dug out an older radio of mine that I am having some trouble with.  The radio is a Yaesu FT-50r with keypad.  Well when I program a VFO either by the keypad or with the software and such anytime I press the PTT the display shows ERROR, its does not matter if I am 2m or 70cm.  Just wondering if anyone out there knows a quick easy fix for this.  Please let me know any ideas, I have done some searching on the net and have not had much luck making anything I have found work.  Thank You for all your help!

Could be that the PLL is out of adjustment or nonoperative.

Check your repeater shift function.  If the shift is enabled, and the radio shifts to a frequency out of the amateur band, it will bonk with an error.

Good point.
