I am just getting around to applying for my IOTA award.  I have about 255 Islands confirmed.  Not sure if this is a new one or not, but will be chasing it. Good luck to all!  When you hit 320 countries and ATNOs are less frequent, IOTAs can keep up the thrill of the chase.

Hi Romeo,

It was only meant as an observation. I wasn't commenting as to whether it is good or bad.

I hope to work you guys in the contest. I don't think I have worked Lampedusa but I have worked an island in that group.

I am trying to work all the Italian provinces but I have already worked Agrigento.

Same here.  I didn't mean to criticize the operation.  Truthfully I don't follow the IOTA culture and I was just surprised to see a big activation (operators and duration) for an island.  I wish the team best of luck.  I will try to work you if I hear you on the air.

Sometimes these things get crazy. I remember a couple years ago I ran up on a pileup for IS0R. You would have thought someone activated P5. Looking at the log 78% of their QSO's were with EU!?!?!?.

A pile up could be generated from any location.  I've done it from Colorado.  All you need is a few people who loves to compete to join the pile.  A pile up is as much of a competition as a desire to work a DX.

I guess for some people it is. I play sports so I can understand competition. But I can't see jumping into a pileup for what for us would be KP4 or a similar location. But if that's your thing, go for it. I also keep forgetting that there's only around 40,000 serious DXers. Many others would find IS0 a good catch.
