My Yeasu  Ft-2800M emits an annoying tone burst every time I key the mike. It is heard by both the sender (me) and the receiver(s). I cannot find any reference in the manual except for the 1750 Hz tone burst that can be generated by one of the P-buttons on the mike. The tone that I want to get rid of, is actually somewhat lower in audio frequency that this. I purchased the rig used, with all the local frequencies entered, so I do not want to do a reset and lose all that.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this tone?

The WIRES button...should be next to the mic jack.

The WIRES button should be super-glued in place so you can't inadvertently, EVER, turn it on!  This applies to all Yaesu radios with this "feature".
