I'm late here but will respond to help others.

I liked the idea of the 2900r so much that I bought 3 of them.  1 of them, my backup is still working as I haven't used it.  My other two failed after next to no use.  I had one in my pickup and one in the shack.  Both of mine just seemed to go dead.  When I put my backup in line it worked find so it's not an antenna or power supply issue.  Love the concept but a little mythed at the moment.
