Since my 5th wheel is mostly non metal, what is a good antenna to mount on a trailer? I will probably mount it on the ladder.

I'm assuming that you won't be operating while in motion, so  maybe a collinear  or log-periodic base antenna that doesn't need a ground plane? Mount it to a mast and fix the mast to your ladder. The Elk-Mountain dual band log-periodic comes with a PVC mount that fits a 1" PVC pipe.

if you are just using local repeaters whil stopped,  most any antenna  that will mount on the ladder will work.  If you are camping in the boonies and want to work 2m ssb, then a tilt up mount with a small beam is your ticket.
