Anyone have experience, good or bad, with either of these, or know how they compare?  I am looking at using one for a Cuscraft MA5B Yagi with a M squared 2M9SSB a few feet above it.

My vote is for the HD-73.

The HD-73 can be rebuilt by Norm's rotor service if need be - the Yaesu must go back to Yaesu.

I am leaning towards the HD-73 as well.

The HD-73 has PLENTY of parts available & Yaesu does NOT have parts for their rotors that have been discontinued. If this model is still in production they have parts but once it stops the parts go away.I have a Yaesu G-800SDX that I hope NEVER dies or it's done.I owned an HD-73 before the Yaesu & Norm rebuilt it for me.It worked 100% but I liked the Yaesu controller better & the overlap feature on the Yaesu as well.
