My winning guess is Bouvet

My contender guess is Baker and Howland

My dark horse guess is Myanmar

My guesses would be either Amsterdam/St. Paul or Crozet; possibly Tromelin but I think that teaser would have come out of France. KP1 would be nice but I'm not holding my breath. Failing any of the above, then I'd put a few chips on either Pratas or Myanmar, with the edge being Pratas.

It's now Tuesday and no new news.  I'm checking DX-World every five minutes or between working ATNOs, whichever is sooner Cheesy

Yes!  Last week's "Next Week" is NOW

Where is the announcement? My (and probably others) patience is rapidly waning...... Roll Eyes

I STILL think its gonna be E3, with Navassa my second choice.
Either/or would be just fine with me. Cool

I don't think this will be a mainland dxcc, I strongly suspect it will be a far off island with huge expenses involved.

I dont know though............  Hey, you never know.....  they could be raising antennas as we type, in ERITREA.

Perhaps when I get home from the beach, the cluster will be saturated with E3 calls and DX alarms going off. hi hi  Cool

I hope this is NOT an April's Fool's joke.

Could someone in the know at least confirm that this is true without revealing the entity?  The wait is killing me.

It's not an April Fool's. I am unable to say any more, but info will be revealed soon enough. It was initially supposed to be Monday or Tuesday this week, but I'm hearing 7-10 days could also be the time-frame. Hang in there !

"Initially supposed to be Monday or Tuesday"
Taking longer than thought to get there and get set up than originally estimated.

I think when this one pops up, its going to be balls to the wall.

Remember the last SURPRISE expediton?  E3 still at the top of my list.

I'm pretty sure it won't be Eritrea.  We have been negotiating with them for several years with little progress. We made two visits to Asmara.

This past January, they had a Coup attempt where the Ministry of Information was taken over and is suspected of being involved.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/22/world/africa/coup-attempt-fails-in-eritrea.html?_r=0

Basically, no one in the Eritrean government trusts each other and this prevents good things from happening. They have a on-going border war with Ethiopia and they have no need or desire for tourism. They won't allow any non Eritreans leave Asmara for surrounding areas.   Things are pretty bleak in Eritrea at the moment.

The news article makes my qso in 2000 all that more special.

Interesting article, sad that so many have to suffer.
