Very sad. It's fortunate it wasn't on the island or at sea, I suppose. Luis was one of my first Mexico contacts and he's in my logbook several times, as he probably is for about anyone that chases DX.

I was talking on Skype with my friend Paul, K9PG, and he told me of Luis passing away just after he got back TX5K.  A long time friend and a sad day for us here, one of his many, many friends.  We have broke bread and shared beverages for many years as well as have had many QSOs with Luis in Mexico and many other rare spots. RIP, Luis. You are already missed! Joe, V31JP.

Deepest condolences. As soon as you met him - you had a new friend.

What a sad bit of news.  I noticed he was on the Clipperton team and was delighted to see him on the list.  I think Luis was the very first XE for a whole lot of new American hams, and he was a real gentleman.  RIP, Luis.

Luis was my very first XE contact.  I was barely in to HF for two months at the time.  RIP.

What sad news this is.  As a greenhorn DXer Luis was my first XE and returned my card request with a very nice note.  My condolences to all family and friends, and what a great loss to the DX community...
