Has anyone had any experience of the rebuilt rotators that a couple of firms sell?  am thinking of getting a couple of Ham 1V and if I can save a $100 a unit it all helps.

Who in your opinion is the best firm to buy through?  thanks.

I do realise they will be 110v, but have enough 110 v gear to need a dedicated transformer to drive it all.

I bought a rebuilt HD-73 from Norm's Rotor Service a while back; I had a spare controller but no rotor. Beautiful condition, works great.

I have gotten a TX2 rebuilt from Norms Rotor Service...  It is not in service yet, so I can test it, however the reports from others are great for him...  Rotor and controller came back looking new...

Unfortunately, as far as I know, Norm has cornered the market on repair parts for Alliance. I don't have much choice for my HD-73 repair unless I jump ship to another brand!

Norm's RotorService was owned by Norm, it was based in Frederick, Maryland for decades.
When Alliance Mfg. (Alliance, OH) closed in 1996, Norm stepped in and
bought remaining inventory, designs, molds, and documents for HD-73, U-100 series.

OLD ADDRESS:

Several years ago, two amateurs from Birmingham, Alabama bought the business,
as Norm retired, and moved operations to that location.

I've had a number of rotators rebuilt by Norm of a period of 15 years.  He does a fantastic job, fastnservice, and the rotators are returned in beautiful condition  He's friendly to deal with too.
