I just got 8Q7KP in the Maldives at 9:50 pm EST. My first zone 22. That southern Asia to China has been elusive. And did I mention it is also a new one???!!!!

I think I am going to go upstairs and grope my wife.

Congrats!  Does that give you worked all zones now?  Zone 22 is one of the rarest ones for me also, although I did catch VU2NKS on 12m RTTY earlier this year for a new zone on 12m.

I surprised to hear India is a difficult one.   Lot's of them on.

I need the "crazy zone"  #34... and the "quiet zone" #23..  Mongolia, Western China.

And I need Delaware...  Smiley

Not quite so easy from East coast of US! But yes you have to be in right place at right time.

ST2AR and SU9AF account for most of my Zone 34 QSL's. SU9AF has been pretty active past couple of weeks and uploads very quickly to LOTW.

For Zone 23 via LOTW, you want JT1CO.

Deleware has been kinda tricky in domestic contests past couple of of years. For a good while N8NA was the regular and an easy shot for me on low bands in nearly every domestic contest, but I didn't find him in the past couple of tests. e.g. last years sweepstakes, the two I missed were Nunavut and Delaware!

Thanks for the input...

Naturally, right after talking about Africa..  I just set a new personal record and tried for ONE HOUR to reach Botswana A25RJ..   He was weak at first but up to 5-5 before QRT.

Usually I can get them if I can hear them..  Perhaps my voice wav wasn't appealing.. I tried both, but I sure wasn't going to talk that much in a pile-up.   Sometimes it's just one-way....  Undecided

That would have been a new Country but not a new Zone or anything.

Hold the Anchovies!

I am still not in their online log. He got my call right the first time, gave me a 5-5, and asked for my state, which I gave. I hope he did not bust my call. I may have to email him and confirm whether or not I made the log. If it is incorrect, I will whipe it and retry.

Your SSB chances are slim to none.  CW on 40 or 80 will be your best bet.

I have to check my logs. I got Hawaii on numerous occasions, and I am throwing distance to Delaware. All on SSB. I used a vertical for the most part.

Most of my East Coast were done Long-Path.   During the Fall / Winter I was coming around from the East 5-9.   Many were working Europe / Africa and surprised to hear a strong Hawaii from that direction.

I don't know how man Delaware's there are..   It's not easy getting there now.   That would probably be 15, 17, 40 meters short path.    Getting Europe strong lately over the Pole.

Picked up Kansas on the HHH net the other night.   Forgot about that.

Keep plugging along......

N4NYY,

I think right now - 15, 17 & 40M are the strongest coming out of Hawaii.

Yesterday 17 was up and down in big waves.

I was 5-5 to NY and GA  but not strong enough for Montreal (probably weaker setup).

Others on the islands with a better shot (near the north / east) facing shores would probably be about 5-9 or so.   I hear that a lot.   I'm just glad to be able to reach the East Coast Short-Path.

I have all 40 zones confirmed but LoTW is not good for WAZ yet, so I'm waiting.
