I kept seeing spots on this callsign.  I don't hear the DX but I could hear the pile up.  At one point a NA station said this is a dxpedition Huh  I need TI9 and I'm wondering if anyone know what's going on.  Thanks.

That's one I could use as well so if anyone does hear of a DX'pedition out to Cocos, please let us know. I haven't seen anything on DX World or Bernie's Daily DX bulletin but I may have just missed it being mentioned.

I know Gene. The only expeditions that should come be active are ONLY ones you need and nobody else. I could say the same thing about Navassa but I don't because I would be happy to see another expedition from that location because I know a lot of DX'ers would love that operation and it could help quite a few get HR. Of course, when I worked them, the WARC bands didn't exist so I could use those band fills also Smiley

I agree, Gene.  I have TI9M and TI9KK on a bunch of bands.  So unless one shows up on 160M, 12M or RTTY I'll just watch it go by.

I am also in need of TI9 but not one activated by Slim.  Looks bogus to me...

I could use Cocos only on 6 and 10m, but I'm not sure this is a legit operation. Nothing in any bulletin about an activation, and my understanding is that TI9 is much like XE4 in requiring insane amounts of bureaucracy to activate and only by TI-nationals. I'm pretty sure we'd have heard by now if it was legit. Regardless, I've still got a 10m alarm set Grin

That'd be my guess or something-D9 (Dah didit for TI = Dahdidit, D).

All the spots have been on SSB.  I also tried searching for a similar callsign (i.e. changing the number) on QRZ with no luck.

That was the same frequency and split as Z81X. It looked like cluster qrm to me.
