I've been licensed 31 years now and got to thinking about who gave me my Novice test. I took the test in Vacaville, CA sometime in the last half of 1981. I was 14 at the time so it never really occurred to me to remember that OM. Is there any way to find this out? I've held the same call this entire time - KA6WKE.

Thanks and 73!

Mark...

Do you have a name? If you have his Callsign, it might have changed over time.

The FCC Database search for Callsign is only good for last two years. So if you have a name,
try a search for it. Otherwise, you're out of luck.

FCC SEARCH LINK: http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchAmateur.jsp;JSESSIONID_ULSSEARCH=yQK2RHGS0GXJbBy3Yy91GrJG1vFw44H5nkL9YkXRKJpQ0QWnhrWn!-374438180!510035284

31 years is a long time, and this individual might be a SK now.

My novice examiner from 1960 is alive and living in California still holding his same K2 district callsign. Have his old QSL Card along with my Novice Code test saved with every license the FCC has ever issued me. At age 14, it was a very remembered event I'll never forget.

Good luck!
