Asus came out with a new Netbook late last month the breathes new life into concept. Gone is the Atom with is luke warm performance at times and it is replace with a dual core low voltage Celeron 847 that is basically a declocked I-3 core CPU with hyper threading disabled. Otherwise same CPU with same L1, L2 and L3 caches. Also has true HD decode built into displays GPU hardware.  Built on same 10.1 inch display size it now has a higher res and anti glare too (1366 x 768  vs 1024 x 600) and ships with Win8 64 bit. Unlike dual core atom and win7 starter to which only supports 2 gig max, the eee PC 1015E's CPU and OS supports up to 16gig. Laptop come in 2 and 4 gig models at moment.  So if you are looking for a small laptop with decent power and good battery life (7+ hrs) check it out. While dual core Atoms do well with web surfing and such the 1015E is a whole different animal than Atom based laptops. It trades off some battery life, were Atom still rules, for a big jump is power.
