Today, the DSP sound card and home computer has more processing ability (not an option in 1970s) --
BUT purpose built equipment has its place and usage.
BTW, Most Tono machines are equiped with batteries for memory-backup.
Some even still contain the original batteries.
If you get your hands on one of these its wise to open up the case and remove the old batteries.
Old batteries will start to leak and may damage internal components.
