Afflicted with a touch of nostalgia, and an advanced case of CRS, I'm interested in determining the year of my first license (Novice) as WN7GIF. I've been looking for call books for the period from 1955 to 1957, but have been unable to find any. Is there a data base other than old call books, that identifies original issue dates of call signs? Given my satisfaction and pride in having gotten my novice license, I'm surprised that I didn't keep my old paper logs or QSL's or even my license. Discarding those MUST have been accidental  Cry.

Thanks for any help, es 73....

Did a Google Search of WN7GIF and that call appears in the January 2004
issue of Utah Amateur Radio Club newsletter - The Microvolt.

Go to page 6 and you'll see WN7GIF noted by Glen Worthington, WA7X.

Perhaps contacting some of the current club members can provide an answer.

Good hunting!

Wow! Nice detective work, Charlie. I'll definitely contact either Glen (WA7X) or the SLC club. Just based on Glen's article in the club's magazine, I'm sure he will remember when he got his novice license.

Thanks again, es 73.
