You know, most multimeters set to read AC volts will read something even with pure DC from a battery applied. If that's how you are reading the AC voltage I expect there really is no problem.
AA4PB has a very good point, to test this you could disconnect your battery(ies) from the main mail line and test for ac voltage, if your getting the same reading from the battery directly you know its nothing to worry about.
