Thinking about the FCC requirement I believe that the ARRL reported IMD does not need a correction factor. If that is so, the KX3 3rd order IMD (at 10 watts) of -36 dBc exceeds the FCC 73.757 requirement of -35 dBc for SSB broadcast.

Suitable for use with the KX3 we have, in addition to the RM Italy amps, the Tokyo Hy_Power HL-45B and the HL-100DBX, the Ten Tec 418, and the Elecraft KXPA100.

So, not all KX3 owners who chose to use an amp will be running a dirty RM Italy amp. And some will simply use their high power amp for the job.
