I'm hoping to pre-program some stuff so I don't
have to mess with it on the road.
A few years ago I did this for the monotonous
drive from Southern California to Winslow, Arizona.
("It's a girl my Lord, in a flatbed Ford,
slowin' down to take a look at me......")
Programmed in almost 20 2m and 440 repeaters.Once I got outside the Metro L.A. Area.....nothing.
Got into lots of machines, but nobody to talk to.
Maybe it was the (very) rural route of those highways.
Maybe things are different in other areas of the country.
But this has been my general experience with VHF/UHF
repeaters in the Southwest part of the country. Now
when I drive long distances (rare these days) I stick with HF.
