I often take issue with ZENKI's various post, but he has valid points about a smallish size 20-25 W manpack idea. I say this because as a portable QRP operator myself using my MFJ Cubs I have more than a few Maine-Colorado confirmed contacts with Paul W0RW/PM and his well known manpack adventures which have always been of interest to me in the sense that I might also take an interest in and enjoy QRP SSB if a smaller rig than Paul's PRC319 were available. As ZENKI states, battery longevity is the key issue.
