Might be a licensing issue, too. Who knows. If nothing else it at least puts the CE0X bug in people's minds and perhaps an honest-to-goodness DXpedition in a few months may be the net result, which, quite frankly, I would prefer since I'm a big Challenge-chaser. I wouldn't be doing that for a one-man operation. Still, I really could use even one Q!

MONDAY JUN 24, 2013TAGS: CE0Z-WU2D, San Felix
Mike WU2D has updated OPDX with the following
“My reciprocal license was finally received from Santiago on June 21st. Thank you Radio Club de Chile for helping to facilitate this. CE0Z/WU2D will be my call. Also, CE1/WU2D for mainland.

I am confirmed to go to the island on the 8th of July. Although I have asked, I still have no definite answer from the Navy that I will be able to actually operate a station but I will be prepared to do so. Keeping fingers crossed.”

This is not looking good.  I don't see any update news posted anywhere.
I wonder if he never made the trip.

Don't you know that he is waiting until all you guys go back to work this morning, so I can have an easier time of working him.  Wink

Actually, he is "Probably" busy with his work, as he said it would be a spare time operation. That could be a few hours over days, or a couple hours or less over a week...  Lets hope he DOES find some time ...........

Did the XF1F operation last year count as San Felix Huh

It was NA-124 where San Feilx is SA-013

I didn't work it as I don't pay much attention to IOTA.

XF1 prefix is Mexico

CE0/X prefix is San Felix, Chile

IOTA trumps DXCC for me, but we're all different :-)

Sigh. When he didn't show up on Thursday or Friday I figured it was something like this. If it's a military installation, I wonder what hoops will now need to be jumped through to get anybody operational from there. I am kicking myself even harder now for not trying XR0X back in the day....it's starting to look like another Navassa. Easily reachable but virtually impossible to activate.
