But I'll find out for myself. I just ordered Cyclone 40 kit #1xx.

Cyclone 40 kit #109 arrived here (St Louis) a few days ago. Thanks for the fast delivery, Dan and 4SQRP crew. The black PC boards are works of art.

Another report - made a few contacts in IOTA contest then I went up the band and had a normal QSO.  No issues tuning the rig through heavy traffic in the contest, the MOSFET mixer is very robust.  After a few minutes of warm up the PTO does stay put.  And unlike a varactor rig, it tunes up also to make QSOs above 7100 kHz.  While the design was born as part of a parts count competition, don't confuse this for a minimalistic rig -- its a robust superhet and outputs a healthy 5 watt signal.  Indeed the appearance is a work of art.  The sound on receive is similarly a work of art as the sound is extremely clean.
