No question the FT-902.  That radio's got curves.  Had one for many years.  Sold it cause I got older.  hi hi

Bask in the luscious wrinkle finished wonders they are, and bow to their impressive uber-whelming towering presence!!!

Yummy!

Wow whats not to Love?

A gorgeous blank Top.
A Huge Pair of Knobs in the Middle.
A big Bottom section with an easy to access front that Loves a lot of Juice!
And the icing on the cake... Those didn't come with speech synthesizers  Wink

What more can a man ask for?  Grin  Grin

and, Ten Tec rigs are ugly?  At least an average technically inclined ham can repair them when the time comes.

Once again.....OLD Ten Tec radios, butt ugly.  New Ten Tec....very nice looking radios.  And good luck repairing the new ones yourself; they're very advanced just like everything else.

Ten Tec has really come a long way....their gear is on my short list for the next round of new gear.

No one can argue that the OMNI V does not cause nightmares... but WOW... if I were a young novice back in the day and had a Century 21, how could I turn it off and stop looking at it long enough to sleep!  It has such clean symmetry -- and what a simple, direct-conversion design -- just cool!

That said, the most extreme juxtaposition of ugly looks and incredible performance in the modern era is the K3...  just sayin'

I don't think the K3 is that bad.

Gee, compared to my K2, it's beautiful!

The guy who designed the FT-1000 should get an award, it's design just screams bad ass!  It's kind of like the Saturn V of ham radios, they may make more modern rockets but nothing looks more Bad ass than a Saturn V and nothing looks more like a Bad ass ham radio than an FT-1000.

Tempo 2020 Transceiver.

Looks like a nice piece of vintage gear.

The K3 is a homely rig, but what makes it beautiful is the way it sounds on a crowded CW band.  Like you and the other guy are the only ones on the band.

Zenki If that was the case I would have nothing.
She sees ham radio as a complete waste of time "why don't you just pick up the phone and call the guy" kind of mentality.  She knows I enjoy it so she says very little about it but I can see from her facial expressions that if she had her way it would all be sold.

Easy, any radio with a gorgeous blonde, brunette or red head operating it.
Preferably female.  My ancient kdk fm-144dx and my wife holding the mic so close to her mouth while chatting with the MIR cosmonauts would leave me speechless.
