Is there a software logging program that would be able to identify which of my adif log entries were IOTA stations?  I have been using HRD for logging but it does not identify the IOTA information and I would like to extract this from the adif log file.  How can this be done?

Thanks.

I am also looking for something like that as well...  I will watch this thread carefully...

Probably not. If a station was operarting as I2ABC or I2ABC/P off the coast of Italy in one of 30 different Iota Islands, how would the logging program know which particular island or Iota to credit? I use Logger32 and if I know a station is operating from a particular Iota I enter it under the Iota entry. The logging program will then be able to keep track of your Iota award worked/confirmed status etc.

It would be possible to mark some contacts as iota by just their callsign (like KH6 for example), but not all. Many country prefixes can be multiple iota's or not an iota at all. For example, I have made contacts from NA iotas using my own call, but unless I tell you which ones, you would never know Smiley

DXKeeper, the logging component of the freeware DXLab Suite, can do that if

1. the IOTA tag can be unambiguously determined from the callsign (e.g. 3B8CF is on AF-049)

2. a callbook lookup of the callsign returns an IOTA tag

One can update logged QSOs "en masse", filling in missing IOTA tags in a selected set of QSOs.

If you're interested, contact me via aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com and I'll provide step-by-step instructions.

A station operating with a KH6 prefix could be on any of 8 different IOTA island groups: OC-019, OC-055, OC-288, OC-289, OC-290, OC-291, OC-292, or OC-293.

However, 114 of the current 340 DXCC entities unambiguously correspond to an IOTA group:
