Warranty service is important for any purchase I might make.
Any warranty is only as good as the outfit backing it up. Frankly if you insist on buying the cheapest POS you can find, then you get what you paid for no matter how "good" the warranty is. How many times is it worth it to you to send it back for repair or replacement? What happens when the warranty runs out and it needs even a simple replacement part like a knob or switch? How far going forward will batteries and other accessories be available? You can still get many accessories for "big 3" radios going back three decades.
A great warranty can't make up for a crappy product. Good products often come with good warranties but rarely need them.
