I have read reviews for TYT mobile transceivers on eham and Amazon.com, and I have been unable to find any information on warranty service in the USA for these units. One reviewer on Amazon mentioned sending a TYT transceiver to Singapore or China for service. I spoke with Burghardts in South Dakota about servicing these units and he said they do not service them. I did find one retailer online who would service TYT units IF you purchased your radio from them. Warranty service is important for any purchase I might make. Any information on this topic would be appreciated.

You've already performed your homework. Either purchase from that one dealer, or purchase something else!

What do you need in a mobile rig? 2M and 440? Need to see/receive both bands at the same time? Need a
remote head?

Warranty service is important for any purchase I might make.

Any warranty is only as good as the outfit backing it up.  Frankly if you insist on buying the cheapest POS you can find, then you get what you paid for no matter how "good" the warranty is.  How many times is it worth it to you to send it back for repair or replacement?  What happens when the warranty runs out and it needs even a simple replacement part like a knob or switch?  How far going forward will batteries and other accessories be available?  You can still get many accessories for "big 3" radios going back three decades.

A great warranty can't make up for a crappy product.  Good products often come with good warranties but rarely need them.
