Ham radio is, or should be, a hobby that one does to get satisfaction or pleasure from.
I am not a hardcore contester, but had fun working the WAE contest this weekend. I only ended up with 80 contacts, but had fun contacting the various European countries- Finland, Scotland, Austria, etc. and exchanging the obligatory 59 and serial number without having to know how to speak their various languages. I feel that the activity ( ham radio and contesting) helps to promote goodwill among the various countries and peoples, and that gives me great satisfaction.  Any hobby is what we make of it, and I for one am glad that ham radio is still available for us to use.

I too had a blast contesting this weekend even though I only minimally participated in the CIS QPSK 63 contest this weekend.  It's refreshing to see someone post positive, uplifting comments for a change.

Agreed!

Appreciating it is the key and that's all you need to do to simply enjoy it. Just simply enjoy all aspects.

Contesting is fun.  ...unless you're talking about the Phone Sprint.

Great job in WAE!

I had a great time in the September VHF contest this past weekend, even though my station isn't a big gun VHF/UHF station.  It is great to see life above HF for contesting as well.
