I put out a "Wanted to Buy" ad for an Alexloop and got an email from k5mwg saying he had one for sale. The wording alone was enough to make it suspicious but I was bored so I played along.....
(Good Day
Mr. BOB
I'm writing you in regard's for the Alexloop  you request for so i want to confirm if you are still interested in as i have one in a good condition to sell out, hope to hear back from you asap .
)

I asked for a picture and a price, he sent a picture and an odd price. I did an Alexloop image search on Google and lo and behold....there was the exact same picture from someone else's ad from over a year ago. I responded and asked why he would use that photo but I haven't heard back yet Roll Eyes
Don't fall for these scammers......k5mwg either you just got caught or someone is using your call sign to scam.

Bob, or should I say Mr. BOB Grin

BTW, if someone has an Alexloop, I'm still looking for one!

If K5MWG had listed his email address on QRZ, this would not have happened- simple as that.
