Hi,

I was wondering if the Icom IC-2KL 500 watt amplifier was the matching unit for the IC-735 transceiver. Has anyone here had any experience with this unit?

Thanks again,

I ran an IC 2-KL for a couple of years with the AT 500 tuner and a 746 pro.  It will work  in auto mode with any icom rig with the C-IV cable hook up. and gives you a good 500 watts. It will also work with non icom rigs in manual mode.  it works just fine.

Robert Langston, W2ENY sold the Icom IC-2KL interface cables OPC-118,
with 24-pin Molex connector for Icom transceivers and tuners, that are no longer available from Icom.

Appearance wise, the 2KL was matching unit for the old 751. They are compatible will all ICOM radios even today.
