Hey!

Anyone see the new "Velveta" ham commercial?

Be that "everyone knows that ham radio guy".......

LOL! Loving it!

Seems like in the last 7-8 years commercials, TV, radio and movies have some sort of ham radio thing in them.

Anyone can remember others lately and what do you think about them when you come across them?

That commercial has been out for a while.
What I like, is that it portrays us in a more favorable (or normal)  light than some current stereotypes
We need all the POSITIVE recognition that we can get

How do you figure one silly cheese commercial
constitute a "huge come back in the entertainment biz".

I must have missed the two page article in Variety magazine.......

It's not just cheese, it's Velveeta!

Variety's probably waiting for something bigger, like a mention of ham radio in a commercial for Olive Garden.

That's because you missed the one line I mention....."Seems like in the last 7-8 years commercials, TV, radio and movies have some sort of ham radio thing in them."

Helloooo! Dahh!

There's always gotta be some guy!

As for the commercial being out a while....just saw it for the first time the other day. They kinda tried to make it cool so I know what you mean other than the "usual weird ham guy" which unfortunately the sterio type is true in most cases. Lol!

I know I'm gonna get slack for that comment.

Anyways, always seem to a hear some morse code beeps in communicaton commercials, a ham radio being used like in a recent episode of "Under the Dome". Etc....

I'm pretty sure I don't know any hams who aren't in some respect, "odd" if not plain "weird". Including myself.

LOL! I've met some that just plain made me want to walk the other way and not even mention I'm associated in the same hobby mind set. Lol

Of course I don't treat them any different because I'm a geek inside for sure, but you'd never know in a million years by looking at me, or my life style.

All in all its a great hobby and glad to be a part of.
