I'm going to be relocating to the Philippines soon.  I'm wondering if it's easy to obtain 50 ohm coax cable over there, and PL-259 connectors.

Specifically, I'm looking for low-loss LMR 400 cable (or something with similar specs).

Please post answers or email me directly at stpatryck at gmail dot com.

Thanks,

Patrick -

Based on that location, should find amateur radio accessories & electronics
(that are made in Eastern Asia) far easier to acquire in Hong Kong and Japan.

You will need to be mindful of AC Voltage / Frequency differences
as well as Metric versus English measures -- especially with coaxial cabling.

Greg,

Thanks for the response.  Have you actually been to the Philippines, tried to search around, and not have found anything?

There is a place called Ham Radio Specialist on Seagull Ave, Taguig City in metro Manila area. I can't speculate on what they have or if they are even in business as I have never checked them out. I'm currently in the PH at the moment and thought about checking them out but I doubt I will have time. I couldn't find any website for the business but if you google it you'll see what im talking about. I'm kind of in the same boat as you wondering about the availability if ham acessories here. We only visit the wifes family every few years and I keep saying im gonna set up a small station here but have yet to really have the time. I hope you are able to find something. If you do please keep us informed. If I get half a chance I might try to find something while im here but im not sure im gonna get the time. If I do i'll let you know what I come up with. You might also drop an email to PARA and see if they have any info. They have always emailed me back pretty quick when I have had questions.
