I am very interested in the K3-100 and was looking for information on the various options that would best suite my operating, the factory website recommends going to the Elecraft Yahoo group, don't know whose Post Toasties I peed in but was denied admittance?

Is the group full? Do you have to be an owner to join? No flames, just looking for quality information on the unit and the software/firmware available for it.

I don't know what's going on with the Elecraft Yahoo group, or why you were denied admittance.  I've had good luck getting information there, but posting volume seems to have dropped of late.

You might want to try Elecraft's reflector:

http://www.elecraft.com/elist.html

That group has a lot of volume and lots of good information, some of it from the factory.

Did you add a short note saying who you were, your callsign and why you wanted to join ?
Without this I would not be surprised if you got automatically bounced as spam - nothing personal.

As part of their image make over, Yahoo has recently "upgraded" their Yahoo Groups code and broke many of the moderator tools. I wouldn't be surprised if your application didn't get through as you submitted it. Or perhaps the moderator approved it but the server software messed up and rejected it.

Anyway, Yahoo Groups is also very broken for ordinary users so submissions are way down across all groups and many groups are essentially shutdown due to lack of participation. I expect the Elecraft reflector traffic will increase. Also look in Google groups to see if an Elecraft group has sprung up there.

I belong to the Elecraft K3 Yahoo group, and it's alive and well.  I'd resubmit your request.  State your call, and YES you're already a K3 owner, right?
