Using "unusual" phonetics can often get the job done, if they're sensible.

I remember working a station in NY many years ago, multiple times.  Once people heard his phonetics, it was hard to forget his callsign:

W2RUZ.  He used W 2 "radium, uranium, zirconium."  I always wondered if he was a chemist or physicist, but never forgot those phonetics.
