Yup, once again the $89,999.99 Gonset amp is for sale on ebay. Doesn't this guy give up.

It is funny to read all the questions and comments he gets though after his 15 billion pictures.

Only 600 watts? For that price, it should be 60,000 watts continuous duty.

The comments are interesting....

Hmmm...looking at the details of that ad:

Item is located in Burbank CA, at the east end of the San Fernando Valley, heart of the U.S. porno industry.

Many intimate high definition photos of rather ugly parts of an over-the-hill "item."

Item to be gotten by means of "free pick-up" in Burbank.

Sounds like seller works mostly in an industry other than the electronics hobby.

Just sayin'.  Grin

Maybe he put up the $89,000 price tag in order on purpose to get people to talk about it in order to get customers to look at his other items he has listed. He did it to create free publicity...and it worked.

I have seen this strategy before, someone was selling a generic mobile CB antenna for $250 and said this was the type of CB antenna used in "Smokey And The Bandit" movie. Another time was when someone was selling a new in the box HTX 404 for $249....

Maybe I could sell my (still in the package) Radio Shack 4 way telephone line switch for $299. I'll mention it is RARE, untested, NIB and NOS....and it will drive people to my other listings...

With that sort of imagination, he ought to be able to con people into getting him a well paid job in Washington DC.

Didn't the federal government some years back pay a few thousand dollars each for a hammer because they thought they were buying some kind of fancy impact machine. This guy would be good.

And yes, he might just be using this as they say in the retail trade, a "traffic builder"

This amp has been up on ebay for the better part of a year at a very high price (ok not always 90k). I have one or two gonsets in my collection of radios here so when im bored I like to see what gonset stuff is up on ebay. This amp always pops up. For all the listing fees he's paid ebay he probably has spent more than the amp is really worth.

I wonder what he'd be asking for it if the back wasn't scratched?

I agree. He might look like an idiot, but he's smarter than he appears. :-)

Not really. I didn't care to see his other offerings and reported him immediately. I don't really need those sort of misleading listings to show up when I'm looking for actual valid auctions.
