Because of shack location in the house, it would be better to have a headset for VHF use in the house. Anyone have any ideas? not overly Technical or handy!

Any stereo headset with a 1/8" plug will work.  Your preference on style, open back, over ear, full ear cushion, etc.

If you can find a Heil Traveller (single or dual) and its HSTA-YM cable, that is what I have used - AND enjoyed! Unfortunately, the Traveller has been retired ... BUT they are still around ...

That may be wrong information. At least not if the OP is looking for both receive audio and a mic when he asks for a "headset." "Headset" to me means a setup with receive and a mic, too ...

The speaker jack on the back of our '8800 units are 3.5mm, TWO conductor. And provide audio OUTPUT only.

SO - KB1MEW - what exactly do you need???
