Thinking of getting IC-7000, anyone using the Icom SM-30 desk mic or the HM-36 mic on the IC-7000? Results?
Hear alot of issues with stock HM-151 mic. This radio will be used at home, not in the car.

I acquired the IC-7410, when it first came out.  It came with the HM-36 mic, BUT think it had some problems ?

Found information on the web, by AB5N; he had a web site that kinda fixed it for the IC-7000 microphone..  He will also perform the fix for you.  He discusses it at http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/6580
Also check out his site  http://www.7000mic.com
Think he said he had a "...type #2 element..."  audio level fix.

Bob Nagy, AB5N; 121 Rainwood Terrace; Pearcy, AR  71964 was his address, then.  I called him on telephone to make arrangements.

Sorry, was about 2-years ago & I lost most of my paperwork on it.  I also kept my SM-20 base mic from my IC-736 (but never use it, no room).
I only use my HM-36, at times; into digital.

Sorry again.  AT this time, don't even know if he resIdes at the same address, preforms the fixes, or still has that website???

David:

He also talks about the HM-36 mic on the IC-7000.  Just check out the web-pages on the sites.

That's what happened to me, I didn't think it pertained to me-but it did Smiley

Surely it won't be too much trouble to just check-out the web .

Good luck-73
