I put a new HDMI video card in my old Dell Optiplex the other night, and it worked great - until I realized my internal SoundMax card deactivated on installation. I activated it in the BIOS, and I got the soundcard back up and going... but now when trying to transmit with my Kenwood TS-480SAT, the monitor goes completely black when transmitting in fldigi or apps like that.

I have tried all settings and they seem to be working, but this is a PowerColor Radeon 5450 card with the Catalyst software. I've got everything set best I know, so is it possible this card is just not going to work with my setup? I'm fine with just jerking it back out and going to the regular onboard video, but this card would have been nice to have. I'll have it for sale if I can't get it to work if anybody needs one.

Try two snap on ferrites on the HDMI cable, and make sure your pc is grounded.

Not sure where I'll find the ferrites close by, but I'll try grounding for now. That may be the problem because one of my computers is grounded and I forgot this one isn't.
