It was both an honor & privelidge to operate a small time DX-pedition from  very rare Gulf Coast IOTA island in April.

I worked MANY QRP stations, both 5 watt (turn down the power) guys as well as 1 and 2 watt Electkraft rig guys.  Being a small time IOTA dxpedition I heard and worked MANY QRP stations.....and this was on SSB.

Time your calls.   Tail end and wait for time when the pile-up wanes for a few calls...then call and "QRP" at the end.  Full calls.

I cant tell you how many times I worked QRP guys in the pile-ups and they had to TELL me they were QRP.   : )      SWEET.

Never give up.

Congrats, om, on your IOTA expedition. I don't get on fone so I missed that one. I have that particular IOTA confirmed, but I did watch your posts on the DX forum. (one of these days I need to build the SSB kit for my K2. Its been sitting in there for the last 12 years of so.  Grin)
I'm glad you got to work a bunch of QRPers.
I would like to add that you don't need a high solar flux necessarily. I've worked some of my best stuff with low solar flux. (not that a high solar flux is a bad thing  Grin Grin) I would just shorten the title - "QRP Guys--Never Give Up"  Grin
