Oh, and if you are going to start throwing insults then I am sure to follow. But be aware - you started the insulting which I am reporting to the moderators as we speak.

Oh by the way - Hail to the UV-5R!!!!!!!
Is that really your answer, after all of this;  to call the moderators because someone insulted you, threaten to insult someone else, and make some vague odd reference to a UV-5R?  Wow...

I repeat:

"sudo chown -R us ./allyourbase",

If you don't get it, look it up!

So the person who was insulted by being called an idiot, and who reported it to the staff (which is proper and utilizes a built-in function of this software) is the one who is now being persecuted?

Wow. Just wow.

C'mon guys. Can't we all just get along and conduct ourselves as gentlemen?

I'm typing this on my Windows 7 laptop, which is the first OS that M$ got right.  But my shack PC runs Xubuntu, my e-commerce sites run RHEL, and I wouldn't change any of that. :-)

Sure.  The only problem is that the 'insulted one' doesn't know how.  He has about as much diplomacy as a brick has going through a plate glass window.

I have to say you're right about Win 7, but that's the second Windows offering that Microsoft had.  The first was XP.  That's why the uproar about support being discontinued, XP actually still works very well--for its age.

Not really.  I usually ignore him.  His comments aren't really worth much.

I think you should start QSL'ing people (since your QRZ page says you don't) you know - get to know people better. Might improve your outlook on things.

Hello.

First off, I think that Microsoft is getting desperate.
They introduced 8, and most people do not want it.
So, they announce that XP is all but going away, and they spent $ millions on the campaign.
Yes, the number one sales person apple had was Vista! that is a documented fact.
And, yes, there are a lot of things that Linux does not do, but if it is on the level of XP?
90% of the features in Windows 8, most people will never use, the same is true of XP.
But, the things they do use, like Microsoft Office or MS Works. will not run on the new OS.
So, not that I am saying it is wrong, but a lot of people are getting scared that their computer is going to stop working.
I feel that the doom and gloom MS has decided to display is going to hurt them in the end.
This is only my personal opinion based on the reaction of people around me.
You are going to have to decide what to believe, make up your own mind.
Thank you.
