Generally speaking, there is little wrong with Win8. It is the best streamlined version of an OS from those guys in years. The biggest issue I have is them burring many tweeks.

The pausing problem is a symptom of hardware / driver issues. Mine used to freeze for about 2 mins and then continue on as if nothing had gone wrong. It turned it to be a badly synchronised bus / video driver. Eventually Microsoft, NVidia and ASUS got their drivers right.

And to burst some bubbles, Linux runs like crap on my machine (and I don't care). Not every OS can handle 12 cores and 64 GB of ram......But Vista and Win8 does... Wink
