Hello.

Perhaps there is a misunderstanding, yes.
I was living at 214  Broadway, a 6 story downtown apartment building.
Rape alley was all about gang bangers.
Street punks like the "Town Freaks" and other low lifes.
The rape show, if it was going to happen, would be between 3 and 5 am.
So, I would go to the balcony and sit.
Do something? like what?
Call the police, done.
I do not know the people involved.
But, there are dozens and dozens of cases of someone getting involved, and getting killed.
Like it or not, most people will NOT help, they will not call the police.
Fight, rape, whatever, pick up the phone and call the police.
You are not the police, it is not your job.
It could end up like the Trayvon Martin thing if you have a gun, or you could end up dead.
George Zimmerman was a self styled community patrol.
Me? I see something? I report it.
Call in something like this and the police dispatch will always tell you, do not get involved.
Call it in and let the police handle it.
Follow the instructions given by the police dispatch.

This isn't the part that upsets me (and so many others I am sure), but it is that you refer to it as "just a rape".

Dude, get over it, it is "Just a rape".
I have seen people get killed.
Just a robbery, just a rape, they are still alive.
The aftermath, whatever, they are still alive to deal with it.
See someone get killed, and the rest, well, it is, and always will be, a just a whatever.

Is this what you would say to your wife, daughter, sister or mother is she was the one in that back alley?

Are you able to read?
I already said that I did not know any of the actors in question.
And, you are just going to have to get over it, that really is the way it is.
People do not get involved, to the point that they do not call the police, and it has been going on for a long time.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Kitty_Genovese
The other extreme is the killing of Travon Martin.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Trayvon_Martin
I sit in the middle, I call the police, but nothing more.
Again, YOU are going to have to get over it.
I do NOT see a rape as being something I will be directly involved with.
We as a society have to police to deal with such problems.
Want to become a cop, fine, call them up and join.
In some places you can become a reserve or auxiliary police.
Do NOT play cop, that will get you in trouble!

To bad we live a society where laws are just laughed at.  Lots of states have capital punishment for murder but it regularly takes 25 years to have it implemented.  We wouldn't want to have any murderers be a "victim" now of laws that can be defeated in a kangaroo court of law.  Forget about the REAL victims of crimes.  Their rights are nothing.  We must protect the criminal.  Sometimes I wonder how some of these lawyers and judges sleep at night.  They must have a real method of separating themselves mentally from their actions.

That's why I have guns.  I don't like them but living out in the sticks like I do they're needed.

Notice I don't hit ENTER after each period.  That would make for a very difficult to read post wouldn't it?  Most of the time I don't even read posts like that as they are so difficult to understand what the poster was trying to say.
