I follow the rules to the letter.
When the old Business band required a licence for the color dot radios, I paid whatever the fee was.
I was doing PI work, and the last thing I wanted was a question about radio licensing, and whoever I was working for paid the fees.
So, I simply applied for everything I could think of that I qualified that was itinerant.
At one point my license was 22 pages long.
But, the FCC changed the rules and simply said, "All itinerant".
They did away with Marine licenses.
MURS has some rules, they are a few of the old itinerant channels.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-Use_Radio_Service
I asked how much power, do I follow the old license or follow MURS.
The FCC said I am grandfathered under the rules.
I asked for exactly what frequencies, and was referred to this.http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=cfef8b19a2fb545d25bbe02f61ace28a&node=47:184.108.40.206.220.127.116.11&rgn=div8
It is kind of like a GMRS license now, you look it up and pick one for itinerant.
