I'm always going to be hopeful that someone that has the 8.2E EPROM will read this thread and maybe, just maybe, we'll get lucky.
I also talked to Kantronics and they told me if I found the software, that I could copy it from someone else's EPROM. Thus the reason I started my seach.
I even have a search set up on several "for sale" pages on the net hoping to buy a KAM with 8.2E firmware in it and then after copying the software, I'll simply sell the extra KAM! This too is yeilding no results so far, but I feel confident, that before I leave this earth, I'll find this software. At this point, I feel like I'm on an adventure and the hunt is actually more fun than the kill!

Ok... Occasionally you will find the 8.2 firmware on eBay. I have ran into the seller a couple of times but don't recall the name. Apparently they are either not hams or not interested in selling much, otherwise they would know the demand for the upgrades.
Do an eBay search for kantronics firmware frequently and it will eventually show up.
I know this is not the answer you all are looking for but thought it might help. The upgrade is out there.

I was reading online your extensive frustration regarding the need for the Eprom for the Kam Plus V8.2. I am also in need for the same. I have an eprom writer here at the shop, but can not get Kantronics to release any info at all.
Please replay as soon as possible and let me know if you can help me, thus helping the rest of the hams in need of this information.

I have a KAM with ver 5.01 firmware. Looking for ver 6 firmware EEprom to play with Pactor1. Would appreciate an email if you happen to have one left over from a previous upgrade.
