I have been off of APRS for a while. Had been using a PK=232 MBX, until it finally died.
Just picked up a used KAM PLUS.

I have TNC connected and working?
Station info working.
TNC is DUAL PORT
TNC SETTINGS is DUAL PORT
KAN (Default)
OPEN HF TNC (dual)
TNC commands:
VHF-EXIT KISS MODE
VHF-EXIT Kantronics Host mode
HF-EXIT Kanronics Host mode
HF-EXIT KISS MODE
TNC and radio transmitting (BEACON)my station info
TNC and radio receiving Information on bottom of screen and new station appears and beeps.
I have read all of the info in docs and haved added and changed files as indicated for KAM PLUS.
STATION and APRS Logging are activated.
The stations received are not showing up on the map , except my home station. (Tiger maps)
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, you left out one minor detail - or at least I didn't pick up on it.
What software are you using?
WinAPRS
UI-View
Xastir
Each has it's own setup and the correct answer for you will depend on what software you're using.
Oh wait! You said APRS 2.8.4 - I think that's a WinAPRS version, isn't it? Special on Win98, I'd suggest using UI-View instead - your choice though. Just that WinAPRS has several 'issues' - special on older systems or with fewer resources available.
What happens when you connect to the TNC with Hyperterminal? Can you see data coming in? Can you control the TNC from there? Is the TNC in KISS mode?

+1 For UIVIEW.
Also, upgrade your operating system to XP or 2000 so you can use UIVIEW32. The software is much more stable, faster and easier to use, plus has more features.
Also, UIVIEW32 will completely control the TNC ( I'm using an OLD PK232MBX also which still works ) and there's no need to mess with TNC settings, as UIVIEW controls it 100%.
I can't help ya with the 16bit version, since I've never used it.

Yeah a lot of times, the TNC is not broken. I thought mine was broken, until I used a script file provided by timewave. Works great now. However I do have one thats not working. We think theres something wrong with one of the tone chips. Gotta friend working on it. Hopefully he can get it working, and I can have a backup.
