APRS+SA to PK=232 MBX not connecting

Upgraded my PK-232MBX to the latest hardware and software (has the PSK label on the front). XPWare for windows connects and works great with all modes (I'm also on Vista Premium and connecting via a USB to serial port device).
However, APRS+SA (version 2.28) will no longer connect to the PK-232. After loading the program there is no activity in the TNC window and during the load of the program the PK-232 never changes any lights (just the Baudot light remains on after power up). So it appears the APRS+SA program is not initializing the TNC. I have tried multiple setups but nothing seems to work. Yes, the serial port is correct in the TNC-1 port setup. Here is the pk232.tnc initializing file APRS+SA uses:
EXP on
ALFP off
ACRD 0
ALFD off
BBSMSGS off
MON 2
MXmit off
Mto ALL
MDIGI on
DFrom all
Echo off
FLow off
FULL off
PACLen 128
MSTamp off
NEWmode off
MRPT ON
HEA off
DIGI off
B E 180
BT =4039.66N/11155.86W-PHG5160/Taylorsville, Ut. w7sae@arrl.net
This file worked ok before the PK232 upgrade.
Would appreciate any help on what I might do next.

Update on my request:
I installed UIView today and it works just great to the PK-232MBX. It initializes just fine so the issue has got to be in APRS+SA. Is the .tnc file correct? Any further ideas?

Dick,
I believe there should be a file in UI-View32 labeled "PKAUTOB". It is an auto baud command file for the PK232MBX. If you have the battery jumper removed in the PK232MBX, it works every time. Only problem is, it won't do digi work. You can open that file for editing and read through it, maybe even save it as a file in your APRS+SA.
I think if I remember right, to make it do UI-View32 digi work, you will need to put the battery jumper on, then do the "PKAUTOB" deal one time, then switch it to the KISS digi file. Make sure to hit the SETUP button beside the KISS and select "PK".

Scott,
Thanks for the info. Since APRS+SA cannot handle the front end commands in the PKAUTOB file that UIView uses I have decided to just pre-load UIView, which properly sets up the PK-232, and then terminate the program and bring up APRS+SA. That works ok.
I prefer APRS+SA over UiView mainly because:
1. I am use to it over many years
2. It works better with the Street Atlas maps.
I'm not sure why the PK-232 initialized before but maybe later when I don't have anything to do I'll figure it out.
